There are a bunch of reasons I decided to run for office. I'll share the two main ones.
The first reason started when I began coaching youth soccer. I coached for no reason other than the fact that no one else volunteered and I wanted the third grade boys to be able to play. Coaching has been fun, but one thing I didn't expect is how much closer to the town community I would become. As I became closer to the community, I felt a desire to give more of myself to it.
The second reason has to do with the recent state and federal elections. My wife and I have a recurring conversation where we ask each other "Are these really the best candidates there are?" Our choices are only as good as the people that step up and run. I feel bad complaining about things if I don't also have a solution. So, I decided to do something about it.
There's a lot to running a campaign and I'm new to all of it. I plan to post on the progress made, what works, and what doesn't. Hopefully, this might inspire a few more people to run for office in their town or city.
The election is on May 12, 2025. Let's get to work.
I kicked off the first step in getting on the ballot for the next town election.
Let's go! I've completed the nomination hurdle and am officially on the ballot.
My campaign for the Millis Select Board is ongoing, but I'm adjusting the timing.
